Do you need a permit to film in Congo? Yes!If you plan to photograph in Kinshasa, Brazzaville or other parts of Congo, you will need to be very subtle as people don’t like to be photographed. It is also illegal to take pictures of governmental buildings and structures, and it is not always clear what that is. For those who come on a photography trip to Congo, especially if you plan to publish your work, you need a permit to photograph in Congo!
If you are planning to produce a film or a documentary or to work as a journalist when you go to Congo, you also will need a permit.
If you are planning to shoot on the streets where there are a lot of people around, it is vital to have a fixer and a police officer.
