Garamba and Kidepo Valley

We have another wonderful program for you. Two beautiful parks still unknown to the general public, but both of them top destinations! Kidepo National Park has even been voted one of the best parks in Africa by CNN Travel for several years in a row!

Since Garamba National Park is best accessed from Uganda, we thought it would be interesting to combine this park with one of our favorite places: the Kidepo Valley in Uganda.

We start our trip in Entebbe from where we take a small plane to the Congo border, where we help you cross and then take a second plane. We stay at the park lodge for a week then return to Entebbe. From Entebbe, we take a 4×4 and then stay 4 more nights in Kidepo before returning to Entebbe.

Garamba National Park is mainly made up of savannah and is located in the extreme northeast of the Congo. We find antelopes, leopards, lions, elephants, giraffes, buffaloes and more. It was once home to the Northern White Rhino, but sadly all have been poached. Kidepo is a beautiful park just below South Sudan with savannah and hilly areas. There are wild dogs, leopards, lions, hyenas, elephants, etc. In Garamba, we stay in a magnificent lodge with full board. In Kidepo, we will also be in a beautiful lodge in the middle of nature with the animals always close.

Our trip starts from Entebbe where we take a plane to the border with Congo. There are two fixed days per week. After that, we cross the border and catch another plane that takes us to the beautifully located lodge in the park. We have a nice week in the park where we explore the park on foot, by jeep and also from the air (with a plane or if you pay extra by helicopter). The Garamba Park is a beautiful and little visited park and is one of the highlights in terms of nature in Congo. With Virunga Park, it is also the only park where there is a good lodge and tourist activities. Granted, it’s not cheap, but it’s worth it and know that the revenue goes to the park and gives jobs to the locals.

Be sure that you have been vaccinated against yellow fever and that you have your vaccination card with you, that you have also been vaccinated against COVID and that you have the necessary PCR test results with you if necessary if the airline asks you. We are not responsible for delayed or canceled flights. We try to follow the schedule as closely as possible, but keep in mind that this can always change and some flexibility is needed.

*** If you need a PCR test, be sure to schedule an extra day!

Please note that the schedule below may differ, but we do all activities as listed below. There is also a standard 1-hour airplane safari on the program, which gives you great pictures of the park. If you wish, you can upgrade it to a helicopter flight for around 3000 USD extra. It is difficult to tell which day the flight is, it depends on the availability of the pilot.
