Meet the Bonobos of the DRC - In the Wild!
Tour to see wild bonobos in the deep jungle, not in a zoo or in the capital. The bonobo only lives in Congo. For this expedition, we are collaborating with a small initiative in the forest below Mbandaka where a group of bonobos are followed by trackers. Congo Travel and tours offers the only organized safari where you can successfully see bonobos and also provide a great introduction to the Congo River and the forest.

The park does not have tourist standard lodges so we typically send in our own team and camping and cooking setup to “mobile basecamp” the tourist in the Okapi tour. – However, of course, there is no guarantee to see any Okapis (one of the most elusive and shy mammals in the jungle world fortunately for its survival.)

Join us on this exclusive photography tour focusing on Kinshasa and the Congo-Central Region. We arrange all of the necessary permits and security and go photographing on the streets in Kinshasa, where we will meet the Sapeurs, the snake people and many other colorful characters. We will then go by 4×4 to Nkamba, called the New Jerusalem which was founded by Simon Kimbangu and home to the Kimbanguists. Afterwards we will then visit the mysterious cult of Tata Honda and its followers. This can also be extended with a trip to Mbandaka to photograph the pygmy people and/or Kisangani to see the fishermen of Wagenia.

The pygmy Tribes of Equateur And The Wagenia Fishermen of Kisangani
This travel will take you to some of the most beautiful regions in all of the Democratic Republic of Congo (Congo-Kinshasa). Our trip will either start in Mbandaka or Kisangani, depending on flight availability. In Mbandaka we will visit two pygmy villages where we will spend a few days among the villagers, participating in their everyday activities. From Mbandaka we’ll take the plane to Kisangani, where we will visit the Wagenia Falls and see the famous fishermen on the Congo River. During our stay we’ll also visit the old Belgian research center in Yangambi.
